The game — the short version

Pocket Pawns is made by Pocket Pawn Games. It does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information about you. The game has no accounts, no servers, no analytics, and no advertising. It does not connect to the internet to play. The only data that ever leaves your computer is your save file, and only if you have Steam Cloud switched on — see below.

Your save data

Your progress is saved to your own computer, in the game’s local application data folder. We cannot see it, and we do not receive a copy.

If you have Steam Cloud enabled, Steam copies your save file to your own Steam account so it follows you between your computers. That copy is held by Valve under Valve’s privacy policy, and it contains only your game progress — no personal information. You can turn Steam Cloud off for this game at any time in its Properties in your Steam Library. Deleting the game’s data folder deletes your local saves permanently.

What we receive from Steam

Pocket Pawns is distributed through Steam. Steam is operated by Valve Corporation, and Valve’s own privacy policy governs the information Steam collects from you, including your account details and playtime. As a developer, Valve provides us only aggregated, anonymised sales and usage statistics. We are not given your name, your email address, your payment details, or your Steam account credentials.

The game uses Steam to confirm that the copy you are running is owned, to support controller input through Steam Input, and to unlock Steam achievements on your own Steam profile as you earn them. Achievement unlocks are recorded by Valve against your Steam account, under Valve’s privacy policy. The game sends nothing else, and nothing to us.

Children

Pocket Pawns does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Because we do not collect or hold any personal data about you, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct, export, or delete on request. If you have a question about data Valve holds, please contact Valve directly.

Changes

If a future update adds a feature that collects or transmits data, this policy will be updated before that update is released, and the change will be described here.

This website

pocketpawns.com sets no cookies, runs no analytics, uses no trackers, and has no forms. We do not collect, store, or share any personal data from your visit. There is nothing to consent to, so there is no consent banner. One session-only flag on your device remembers that the opening animation already played; it contains nothing about you and is gone when the tab closes.

The site is served by Cloudflare, our hosting provider. Like any host, Cloudflare processes visitors’ IP addresses to deliver pages and to block abuse, under Cloudflare’s privacy policy. We do not receive personal data from this — at most we see aggregate, anonymised traffic counts.
